Boise Centre Conventions & Events

Our Commitment
to Sustainability

Boise Centre is committed to being an environmentally friendly event venue for our clients, guests, staff, and community. We have implemented numerous energy-saving strategies, green initiatives, and building upgrades to reduce the convention center’s carbon footprint and environmental impact.

Sustainability Practices

  • Established a green team committee with members from each department of the organization
  • Dual-stream waste and recycling bins are located throughout the venue
  • Paper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum and glass are recycled
  • Universal waste (U-waste) is recycled - light bulbs, light fixtures, batteries, ballasts and other mercury-containing devices
  • Boise Centre West utilizes a geothermal heating system — naturally heated, local and renewable
  • Digital wayfinding and meeting room signage throughout venue
  • Paperless practices have been put into place in multiple areas of the organization
  • 100% LED lighting throughout the venue
  • Interactive lighting and HVAC control systems to reduce energy consumption
  • Energy-reducing frequency drives on cooling towers and chillers that cool the buildings

We are proud to have been recognized by the City of Boise with a  2026 Curb IT Award – Champion level, an initiative to highlight businesses that go above and beyond in sustainable waste management.
